there are more pressing issues...like why is it that when I leveled up in BF2, why can't I upgrade my weapons?

thats a pretty open question dude!

i know it's an open question. i am just feeling that i have played a bit too much in my 20's. now i need to think more about my finance and have a future plan.
- jevad0
I would agree!
First thing I would do mate is hook yourself up with a good financial person.
Meet up - go through all your assets, debts, salary etc and figure out what you have saved...what you can afford to save...and sort out a 10 year plan.
My wife and I did it a few months back and it really gives you focus.
Get to it son!
ps - you coming out CO way this winter?
- tkmeister0
jevad,
yeah, i need a financial advisor.
i'd love to come out again this year. if everything works out, i may be coming out with a girl. hehehe

jevad i heard you might hit up whistler this year... they're already blowing to get a solid base for when the snow starts to fall.

everyone is different...there's no use comparing what you've saved or not saved in comparison to anyone else...you'll either feel superior, or inferior as a result...
case in point...i remember when i first started working at this IT firm as their only designer..we're all out for a pint and the subject of salaries came up...one of em asked me what i was making, as i was new there, and i told em...
the table got real quiet..
uh...i dont think we're gonna mention what we make....sorry dude..
found out the next day that all of em at the table were making over 100k a year...
and i sure as shit wasn't...
over the next few years as i gained experience and status there, my salary came pretty damn close to matching theres (but never QUITE equaling it)
but the lesson was learned...don't measure yourself in terms of finance...it only leads to feeling bad...either guilty that you have more, or ashamed that you don't have as much..
trust me :)

i haven't saved shit,
but i'm engaged now and my life is a lot more quiet than back in the days,
i'm looking forward to paying all my debt and starting to make money, not spending it on stupid alcohol and drug binges,
you dont need any savings you just need someone to make you realize that living day by day is not the best thing,
so far all my savings just disapeared, i got a new life a new appartment in a new country and no job , i'm starting it all again from 0

Oh great. It's of those threads to make me really depressed where everyone has money saved, ISA's, mortages and fucking pension schemes and I feel like I'm doing something wrong by not having given a shit ...
I'm 27 and I have savings of about £6 and debts of about £5k.
- paraselene0
at least you've got savings at all.
*grumble

Bottom line is - you don't have to make a lot of money to get rich. Over the years, I've always saved around 20% of my salary each month, spread over stock and funds. If you've been doing it for a few years and if the economy's good, you'll soon find yourself with an account that looks pretty sweet.
I have friends making really good money and it hurts to see them pissing it all away every month. They live in a duplex but nearly goes bankrupt if their fridge brakes one day. (If you've seen "Boiler Room" you know the type)
