    everyone is different...there's no use comparing what you've saved or not saved in comparison to anyone else...you'll either feel superior, or inferior as a result...

    case in point...i remember when i first started working at this IT firm as their only designer..we're all out for a pint and the subject of salaries came up...one of em asked me what i was making, as i was new there, and i told em...

    the table got real quiet..

    uh...i dont think we're gonna mention what we make....sorry dude..

    found out the next day that all of em at the table were making over 100k a year...

    and i sure as shit wasn't...

    over the next few years as i gained experience and status there, my salary came pretty damn close to matching theres (but never QUITE equaling it)
    but the lesson was learned...

    don't measure yourself in terms of finance...it only leads to feeling bad...either guilty that you have more, or ashamed that you don't have as much..
