What kinds of challenges face you every day as a designer?

I know I've heard one too many stories this week about how a designer is afraid to charge the client what they feel a job is worth....and for no particular reason.

convincing clients that the logo their retarded niece made on her light-brite 12 years ago is a piece of shit.

Not being happy with the final outcome, and thinking, what's the point...

in the corporate environment that i work in, i have to deal with 50s and 60s year old suits who's ideas and vision are very outdated.
they think their old school marketing ideas will work in todays college world. not going to happen.
then i work with 12 hot, blonde and stupid marketing girls who think they know design and constantly question my work.
i had one try to explain to me contrasting colors when the colors she wanted were complimentary colors.
i deal with this shit on a daily basis.

oh, and in the past two days i've reworked one piece 12 times. each time changing a small part. it's almost like i'm sending the project to sybil and each time a new personality is looking at the piece.
her last change. "oops. that's the old logo, use this one, and change it to white, inverse it and change the address".
my response. "why didn't you notice this in revision 1? and sounds like i need to charge you for a re-design of your logo"
unreal. again. this is daily bullshit.

more and more people can do what designers do (or think they can because they have the software) and subsequently design work is completely undervalued.
it's hard not to get disallusioned.

where to start...
I give up

Struggling with how sexy I want to look every morning. Too sexy and I'll never make it into work cause I'll be getting mauled by all the women I pass on the street.
Not sexy enough and I'm still sexier than everyone else but only by a little, and this makes garett feel cold inside.

Client. Oops, we gave you the wrong address for our brochure, is it ok to change it?
Designer. You signed it off last week, it's at the printers and will be with you tomorrow. On time. As you asked.

Daily prob:
Always educating my boss on what it is that we do and saving her from looking like a complete ass which by the end of the day is in vain.

per kona's second response...
the whole 'death-by-1,000-cuts' approach to ruining a design is truely disheartening.
just shit all over it and be done, please.
