NYC night work spot

Anyone knows a 24/7 kinda place (coffee shop etc) in Manhattan where it's actually possible to sit with a laptop and get some occasional overnight work done ?
I have the keys for a loft friends of mine work in but it's annoying to bump into people i don't want to see. And home isn't convenient for that (gf).

cake shop! although this weekend might not be the best, because of cmj in town. but the upstairs coffee bar isnt too loud usually. there is a bar/venue downstairs and a cd shop in the back. that place r-u-l-e-s, and can be a good late night place to work in a semi social envionment. that is, if its not a haunt for your friends. i would get now work done there =), but love it just the same.

I didn't like the cake shop too much. didn't feel to inviting or have enough place to do your thing. They're owned by the same people that own Alt.Cafe (on 9/A) which would be perfect if they didnt' close at random times between 1 and 3 am.
I'd recommend Esperanto, though. It's in the West Village on McDougal.
Open all night. Good ambiance. Cheap(ish) drinks. That's where you could normally find me at 3-4am.
