Just about had a heart attack 30 minutes ago fellas. Someone in IT came up and said, "How important were all those files you had on the web server?"
Me: "You said 'were.' Um, really important, that's all the working files for our external site and EVERYTHING I've been working on for the new site, CSS pages I've been working on for three months.
Everything is there, working files, local test files."IT: "I think it's lost for good, I can't get the server back up."
Me: "Holy shit, that's a big problem..."
--In the end it rebooted after 6 attempts and we made a backup pronto. It's an older server they gave me space on once I started doing our web work. I would have been in huge huge huge mad rage if I lost that work.
I don't make backups, and they do backups of our entire systems every night...but not the test server I use...

kona, how was the little break? hope everything is alrite.
- todelete__20
cosmo: exhausting. i'm drained. mentally and emotionally drained.
the only good part was the mood was completely different. earlier in the year my grandpa was an open casket. this one was a closed. different mood entirely. people were telling jokes and great stories, and there were wonderful pictures put out of my grandma. it was amazing.

Sorry to hear Kona, I must have missed an earlier post about that.
- todelete__20
she was so great the chicago tribune heard about her passing through a bunch of people from the town she lived in who wrote/called in and said 'a very special person has passed today' and a day later they did a short write-up about her.

i'm 30 and as far back as i can remember she never missed one of my games.

sorry to hear about that kona.
- todelete__20
it's ok.
ya know. one of the best stories from the day was told by my grandpa and i. they taught me to golf at a very young age and we were all very good. every morning for years they'd take me to the course and the joke between grandpa and i was 'mary, the day you beat us is the day doug and i learn to knit.'
well, the day came where i shot a 41, grandpa shot a 40, and grandma shot a 39. the gracious winner she was she didn't say a word. not one single word.
when dinner came grandpa and i came to the table and there on out plates were knitting needles.
kona knows how to knit.

great story kona
- cosmo0
haha...kona can u knit us something? great story.
- todelete__20
the only thing i knitted was a set of pot holders. i gave them to her for a x-mas present once. she used them all the time but i'm not sure if she only brought them out when i was over just so i felt better about it or what, cause they were frickin hideous.
- robotron3k0
sorry to hear that kOna, but sounds like you have some wonderful memories.
