Is there a way to transform a layer WITH the layer styles?
By default if you squeeze a circle shape with a radial gradient style, the gradient radial stays circular.

i think you need to "flatten" you layers or just save what you've done in a jpg format and than open it in a other psd.

you could copy the layer style .. trash it .. reshape or resize and then paste layer style
right click on layer
or you could apply the gradient with the gradient tool

so you want to be able to take an object, free transform it and have the gradient change in a corrosponding manner?
hm... if i understand you correctly, then since layer Styles dont like to transform, you may want to create a short Action.
the simplest way would be to
select the layer you want to transform, then start a new action called "Bio is a bad motherfucker"once the action is recording, i suggest:
Create New Layer (ctrl+shift+N) - this layer will be empty.
then
merge that layer with the original layer (ctrl+E)then stop the action.
your original layer style is in place but no longer editable. BUT now you can transform the layer (and the gradient) at the same time.
since i don't know exactly what it is you're doing, you might need to change that action around or add something to it. but ... just a quick suggestion. :)

Yeah, I did a similar workaround. I duplicated the layer, rasterized it and squeezed that.
I was just hoping there was a way to actually transform my circle directly with the effect.
Does anyone know if this feature is in CS2?

the gradient layer style transforms for me (PS7)... but you have to confirm the transform before it shows the updated gradient (It doesn't do a live preview)

well sorta...it doesnt seem to handle radial as well as it does linear...
