so you want to be able to take an object, free transform it and have the gradient change in a corrosponding manner?
hm... if i understand you correctly, then since layer Styles dont like to transform, you may want to create a short Action.
the simplest way would be to
select the layer you want to transform, then start a new action called "Bio is a bad motherfucker"once the action is recording, i suggest:
Create New Layer (ctrl+shift+N) - this layer will be empty.
then
merge that layer with the original layer (ctrl+E)then stop the action.
your original layer style is in place but no longer editable. BUT now you can transform the layer (and the gradient) at the same time.
since i don't know exactly what it is you're doing, you might need to change that action around or add something to it. but ... just a quick suggestion. :)
