and jevad...read what he says about "thug life" .....he doesn't glorify being a gangsta...he compares it to being like the american dream...from coming up from nothing to making himself into something...plus he didn't just sing about bitches and bull shit like that...go buy a few albums and listen

I agree with Nac about why he was considered to be 'groundbreaking' and was really popular.
People appreciate others more after they're dead, and this is more so with celebs. If it's true what people have said about him so far, I'm guessing many artists are copying his style.

well charisma means able to inspire loyalty and devotion, which he has. I just never saw or heard of anything that would make me think, "you know, his music is not my style or anything, but that right there makes me respect him." In fact, the little i did see of him did not make me think he was anything other than the typical "thug." That's why i am so curious. I have heard of him being called "thug angel" which was the only thing that piqued my interest about him at all and I am finding that rather empty/lacking as well. Thanks for trying to help me understand though. I guess my brain just isn't there on this.

gimme a fucking break about tupac. he used to have sex with every model on his video shoots, smoke chronic all day and drink tons of E&J. I have read numerous articles about it.
as much as you may think that is cool, it does not make you a role model.
you may like tupac and I dont fault that, I like some songs, but remember him for how he was, not like he was some kind of freedom fighter or something.

speaking of PE, did any of you UK people go to the massive hip hop gig at london arena about 1992? i did. was the biggest hip hop concert the UK had ever seen. may still be. i remember seeing PE (headliners obviously), EPMD, Intelligent Hoodlum and Masta Ace (he was called Master Ace in those days). there were loads of others though, but i can't remember who. anyone help a brotha out?
