$500 after taxes is not so bad a salary in Poland. I guess about half people I know earn around this or less and those are not part-time jobs they have.

you live outside the cornfield in these areas called cities
wichita has 400000 people all happily paying cheap rent/mortgages
but say you want to drive somewhere, yeah, you'll see a cornfield or 2
old 2bdrm apt of mine with hardwood floors was only $275/month no dishwasher though

Yeah, that's definitely more than what a part-timer makes. Or at least I never made more than $400 a month working part-time.
