I have been having these panic attacks for about two years now. Anyone else get them. Doc says I have a condition. He says I need to stop working all the time. Ha. Anyone else get them?

My friend had them all last year and ended up having to take medication for it. Just periodically, especially when she is doing a lot of work and is stressed out (when she's stressed out she's REALLY stressed out). You should take the doctor's advice or get a second opinion if you stop working and nothing happens. Maybe take a little vacation?

long term stress can cause the body to have hair trigger responses to adrenaline. It's almost like "adrenaline poisoning". These responses can become self-perpetuating, causing a cascading arenaline/response to adrenaline full blown panic attack. I think you have to learn to desensitize yourself to it through learning to just oberve it, float through it, and not buy into it.

(Jul 16 05, 10:59)i had panick attacks for a few years, caused by just that. i know of others who had the same thing.
my first attack was on a plane. had to spend about another hour in the air afterwards...
uncomfortable as fuck.another time I woke up in the middle of the night, and it felt like me heart just stopped.
it's not good.i used prescribed anti-anxiety pills for a few weeks. can't remeber what they were called.

trying having a heart condition mixed with the annoying-ass panick attack... wheeeeeeeeeee!!

yeah, that's bad, because a lot of the "panic" in a panic attack revolves around fear of a heart attack!

my brother has this cocdtion.his brain produces not enough seratonine..the stuff that guides the impulses.his brain reacts to shortage in panic attacks..
he took seroxat(pills that level the shortage)and now he is fine.

rand... i've lost vision for a while along with completely blacking out- very frustrating. (doc tells me it's an oxygen issue relating to the way my heart pumps oxygenated blood to my brain - my brain's not getting enough oxygen? not sure exactly what the full deal is - but surgery's in the future)

used to get them alot
now just occasionally when i 'm super stressed
what Rand has suggested is a great way to deal with them
you have to separate yourself from them and almost observe them
it helped me to remind myself that i had "survived" all the other ones and thus shouldn't be so concerned about the current one
understanding the physiological reasons why its happening will really help you deal with them because you feel more control over them

I started getting them about 10 years ago. I quit all caffeine products 6 years ago and have only had 2 or 3 since then.
Hope this helps..

i've had them and still get them sometimes, but yea - rand is right, you have to fight it mentally and all will be good. i smoke weed tho, and sometimes that will bring them on due to getting paranoid, and heart beat rising, therefore i start feeling like my heart is gonna explode. but i've learned to deal with it for the most part. i had one back in the day tho and i thought i was gonna burp, throw up, shit, piss, sneeze, etc ALL AT ONCE. it was like my body was having a full on melt down. i think it's the overwhelming feeling that you're gonna die that is the worst part.

you have my best hopes and wishes, PonyBoy
