I know ill get flamed, but i actually gave this show a chance last season and it quickly became one of my favorites. If you like good TV, new season starts tonight on Sci-Fi.

after the train wrecks of star-trek and the latest trilogy of starwars, i gotta say, i was getting kinda pessimistic..
then i too, saw Galactica..
holy living fuck.

"Best Show....EVER....can't belive how much this show rules over what has come before it..
after years of seeing anything sci-fi related look like total ass, and watching trek go down the tubes after Next Generation...Galactica has been a breath of fresh air for sure..
need the first season on dvd ...

I'm gutted because we had the first series shown over here before it was premiered in the states. Now it's doing well you guys get it first again :(

You guys think I should give it a chance? I was suffering from Buffy end-age., and need to find more shows to watch. I've already got Veronica Mars, as it has some witty dialogue. I heard that Battlestar Galactica is a great show, just not too humourous.

it's pretty dark Jaline, deffo post 9/11 type drama. It borrows from a lot of realistic type dramas, but blends it all together with sci fi really well. worth checking out, but watch the first series before you see season 2, it will ruin the cliffhanger !

I may watch some after I finish *coughdownloadingcough* some other stuff, namely season 7 of Buffy, which I will eventually buy once I have more money. Also, I think I can handle the darkness. Buffy and Angel (which I heard inspired some stuff on Battlestar Galactica) are quite dark sometimes.

They play awesome shows, and Battlestar Galactica is on with new episodes.

watched the first few episodes of the 1st season. Since I've had a steady girlfriend (now fiancee) I never seem to be able to watch it.
... doesn't help that she hates Sci-fi shows. Urghh.. I can only watch stuff like that when she's working or surfing the net. Maybe I should just rent the 1st season and try to catch up.

I don't think it goes on any other channel. Probably just specialty channels and Space, Syl.

That sucks Clear. My entire family hates most of the shows watch and I have 6 others in my immediate family...it's interesting. Sometimes people get the remote a few hours early just to watch the show they want. You should rent the season or buy it. Or download it, which is always handy.

i found on the spacecast forum that sci-fi split the season in two. 10 episodes during summer. 10 during winter.
spacecast finds it incredibly stupid. so they will start playing season 1 in the fall. and then play season 2.

Yes, the movie is called 'Serenity' and will be out in a few months, I believe. It's awesome. You should watch the first few episodes to see how great it is. Or you could watch the film, but that takes place after the first season finishes (the series got cancelled after 14 episodes).

Firefly also rul3z majorly. The film Serenity is due out in Fall.

Well at least now I can watch tonights episode and know what's going on.
