were you watching that thing too garrett? i was fascinated by his workout routine when it came to preparing for the mountains. insane amount of preparation.

It goes both ways. Lance is mainly retaliating against other cyclists who talk shit. I like in 2001 when he looked back at Jan Ullrich and then took off up Alpe d'Huez. Totally broke Ullrich's will.

It was amazing how he made up the time differential on Ulrich during the first stage time trial.
You're not SUPPOSED to be able to do that to a strong rider.

Yeah Mattyd I was.
The best part. "I cheat on my diet if I ride for more than 8 hours a day. If I only ride for 4 hours I don't eat the ice cream."
Holy crap. He has to ride 8 hours for a bowl of 200 calorie ice cream. SHITE! That is dedication beyond what most of us can comprehend.

cycling is boring!

yo mama boring

watching the race for the first time last year i saw this stretch where the riders were heading up a narrow mountain road with the crowd covering the pass and then jumping out of the way at the last second.
so for the rider is was essentially riding into a crowd and being able to see only a couple of feet ahead at any given moment.
anyone know where/when in the race this would've been? i'd love to see that again.

doesn't armstrong train only for this event.. like 600 days a year?
and remember when he fell last year when a spectator's plastic bag caught his bar.. didn't he get up and still win that stage??
puppet, they all are to him
- MLP0
he's hardcore... when shaving grams on your bike means shaving time off your run, lance lost a ball and is now better than ever
- tkmeister0
armstrong trains all year around for this event. the trick is to reach his peak just in time for le tour de france. some riders peak too early in the season and won't last through the 3week tour.
it's as much of mental game as physical. i need to get back in shape!!

blaw, somewhere outside of the Pyrenees. Stage 08:
Pforzheim to Gerardmer (231.5km)I'm thinking about buying some stock in OLN, only near $18 per share and climbing.
- blaw0
there it is, jazx... thanks!
oln is where i saw it, too. blew me right away.
- blaw0
bah! so i missed it, 'eh? that sucks.

to be honest, I believe he was a bit of a 'prick' (not my choice of wording) pre-cancer. he was a cocky arrogant young pro for Motorola in the early 90's - by his own admission. he's worked all his life for this, so I think he is more than entiltled to behave like that - damn sure I would.
he was a hero of mine before he was diagnosed - the day he won a stage in the 1995 stage 2 days after one of his teammates had died will stick in my mind always.
a remarkable man.

yeah, i am thinking about buying it too... analyst rating isn't that good though. but with the target price of 22.33... screw it. i am buying!

tkmeister, I see that thing growing. 50 shares is what? ~$900.00.
I can see it going to about $30 and then cooling off, but still you will have an easy $600 bucks. Just sit on it.

Anybody who is THAT good at something that takes so much dedication will always be a prick to someone, just goes with the mission.
I've read his recent biographical book - I was so impressed that he goes over the entire Tour De France course as soon as it's announced - I mean physically goes over and makes up strategies so far in advance. The dude is all about preperation and dedication.
And intimidating the opponent is always part of the game...
Color me impressed. Zounds.
