logo design so difficult.
i just don't know how to do it!

Good logo design comes with thorough research and a real understanding of the client. I love designing visual identies, it's all about the idea.
But layout is my foe, hate that shit.

Doing visual IDs is great, I tend to find that when tasked with doing a logo, I get half a day to batter out something that ends up just "looking" like a logo, you know? styling with no real substance. Getting clients to understand the distinction can be difficult at times...

making a logo is one of the few things left that really takes time and skill.
no source code to rip or any tutorial to follow, just your guts and tons of research

i guess what i don't like about it is that i always feel rushed and clients don't seem to understand that these things take time, so i end up with something i'm not happy with.
they don't care, but i do :(

I find it difficult to, but is a challenge and that makes it fun...

Don't agree to design them within a couple of hours. Quote the time you need to do the work properly.

(Jul 8 05, 05:04)This sounds all too familiar - don't want to say it's always like this, but it does happen. And I think how you deal with it now will be a great help in the future. Get some ideas together, talk with your client and listen to what they say as this will be a great insight into what they are looking for.
I know it's dificult when clients don't see where you are coming from, but design is unfortunatley a series of compromises.
The client pays the wages and if he aint happy, he aint gonna pay.
Communicate your ideas, but also be a good listener.
You are on the right track already by not being afraid to ask for help.
Good luck.

Turning around a logo quickly can be quite challenging but after a while you get better at it, if not, then you shouldn't be doing it in the first place.
I can't think of an instance where I've had more than 2 days to come up with 10+ decent design directions, but I love how it usually comes together last minute. When you finally have that epiphany while on the crapper, you've nailed the essence of the company and you've boiled the design down to it's simplest, clearest form...
It's a fucking beautiful thing...

its all about process
or
just get an idea and write it on your napkin
- chossy0
I have to do things in the most tightest of deadlines, I mean like running with a tape to get it in a mchine in time to get it on air, but I charge an arm and a leg for that kind of pressure.

ever have to 'redesign' a logo?
and i don't mean make a new logo for a company that already has one.
i mean making a logo heavily based on previous logo but "updated".
UGH

Just go buy a premade logo from one of those shadey online template shops.
BOOM. done.
