anyone else manage to kark this over a businessman's shoulder on the train today?
in the russel crowe of all typefaces we have something akin to: 'police officer shot in chest' and below that a photo with a large caption above it (so it comes off like a subtitle to the big headline) claiming that bloody horror ensues as the g8 protests turn violent.
of course, the police officer was actually shot in the chest in lancashire attempting to question a suspect. but why bother pointing that out? we all know that the metro readers subject themselves to more than a mere cursory glance at the bloody rag...

haha! that's odd - because I had a copy and was thinking the exact same thing... misleading.
i also thought that the photo (cute woman kissing the riot shield) was a quite a good photo.

the photo was good. i suppose if they were really after painting a nasty picture of the protesters they would've thrown in one of some huge dreadlocked guy with fangs wielding a torch or similar.

actually the metro is a very "liberal" in the help the immigrants, pro-african justice sense, despite being owned by the daily mail group. And it is also a cheesy as fuck paper without the intelligence to be sinister in the orwellian sense.
that protestor picture was as cheesy as fuck. I could almost see the photographer/metro editor trying desperately to evoke the spirit of the 60s with the flowers in guns pics, when they cropped and edited that picture.
and if there was a connection between the police shooting and protest headlines; i'm sure it was innocent, incompetent, metro sensationalism - rather than propaganda juxtaposition.

The metro up here today is fulla wank too, and no not the good kind.
Sensationalist claptrap, it was nothing like as mental as they're saying, there was a lot of sirens etc but only isolated pockets of actual bother.
Was talking about the same having happened in Barca over the weekend...
