Would appreciate some feedback :)
(header images and real content still to be added)
(all CSS2/xHTML - so should all validate (fingers crossed))
- kelpie0
sorry, but your link just crashed both my iE and Photoshop.
(doubt it's you though ;)
- kelpie0

*crosses fingers

weird - did this happen to any1 else ?
Theres some flash in there - but nothing complicated...

good detail on the html-pages. like the overall clean look. not too keen on the ever re-appearing fades in picture and logo.
- kelpie0
hmmm, third time crashed iE, 4th crashed whole computer.
(my Mac is notoriously shaky though, so don't read too much into that :)

I do like the clean look....IMHO..., I think that the left blue area with the sub navigation is common, try to drop the blue. You can add between the top bar and the main navigation a photo.
- hiddenloop0
not sure about putting a photo there - it might upset the cleanness !

it's a great start. you have some nice things going on but i would change/re-work...
-the drop shadow. it's pretty heavy on the right. try it at a 90 degree angle. that way you have a bit on each side and main on the bottom. it will give it an even feel and help the two areas on the left that are nearly white.
- keep working the logo. it's nice and simple but it's at the stage where it needs something else. it's not quite to the elegant simple stage yet.
- the navigation can be much nicer. the text is nice and easy to change if ever needed but i think an image and better background can make the nav really nice.
other than that i really like it.

My initial 2 thoughs are regarding the menus, I'd suggest making it more prominent across the top and get rid of the white on rollover because it virtually disappears when you do hover on it.
The nav on the left might benefit from having the same background colour as the navy/dark bar down that side and then maybe use a block or faded image for the links which goes the full width of that bar as it looks a little disjointed as it is.
It's a nice clean look with lots of space but I almost feel as if it's too much space in the middle, possibly consider making the right hand side slightly darker thus effectively dividing the left and right content in two?
Just some thoughts.

perhaps you could differenciate the left and top nav css for some variation, maybe the lighter blue. also think the dark blue is too dark, stucks some life out of the site. otherwise its nice.

Thanks for all your comments, i'll take them on board and get back here with an update.
(The logo cannot change, under strict rules from the client im afraid)
Would you believe this is a relaunch of the following site ...

??!? - the mind boggles what made someone build this.

looks nice - header is a bit bland though..and the blues could be toned down

maybe the left nav coould relate to the dark blue area a little more. blue fill BG image in the css or something.

I think you are overusing certain accents.
The gray background in the pages adds more then they are worth. Perhaps try changing the color of each title, align better, white background with your gray bar in between the two columns and you are good. They gray backgrounds are not aligned and it's making me want to align them. They also don't go well with the pages that do not have 2 columns and all white background.
The picture fade is good on the main page but use something static or change the image on the other pages.
The whole logo bouncing isn't bad, it just makes me want to click the logo and drag it up some. Is that the whole logo? If so, perhaps you should have it visable somewhere else so people see what you are doing with it.
The page looks flat aside from the nav background and the shadow. Unless you scroll down you don't realize it's a drop shadow. Choose depth or flat. Or make one more obvious and the other with reason.
If you can, do something else with the left nav. It looks like you have 2 navs, which you do, and makes it hard to know where you should go vs. someone knows where they want to go.
It's clean, simple, but looks like a template to me. With so many sites it's hard to move away from that with little to no content. And I don't agree with the white roll over on the nav.
I know that sounds like a lot but you do have good elements so just try making it more solid.
Good Luck!

the navigation and sub navigation non-alignment is bugging me
the footer is off by a pixel on the right
the david jameson is pretty boring
the blues don't go together that well
otherwise nice layout and color pallette
- fresnobob0
Dude, its so boring. LIke the last 250 "Site Crit" posts have looked the exact same. Do something different.
