-----------
i'm using firefox here and all links seem to work, but there's a bit of usability issue.for example, when you click on "works", there are 3 slides but it doesn't say there are 3 slides (well, it does...but sometimes those banners showing text info didn't show up). so when you are on 3 of 3 slides, "next" button is still technically clickable - making people think somehow the next image isn't loading up.
similarly, selected works shot only has 1 slide but it has next and prev screen buttons. you probably implemented that for future use (when you have more works to show in a single screen), but for now, it's best those buttons are invisible.
my comment.

your work is nice. Maybe you have to move to a bigger city to find a job.
good luck

i like you work, but your 'next' and 'prev' buttons seem to be delayed. then again, i'm workin' on an 700MHz iMac with 256MB.

the BG images take a long time to load, Not really an issue but it takes something away for me. The grass one is really pixelated.

i didn't realize "Selected Work" is the menu...

i don't think your work is bad. but you know, the cover letter is important, i usually want to see some professionalism in it and that's the first thing they see in the email if you use that as the body content.
we've recently hired a designer but for that post, we got about 150-200 resumes. i know some other popular agencies get around 300-500 resumes. it's a very competitive market.

make "selected works" about 10,000 times more obvious.
your stuff is solid. you must be an aweful writer, because i think your work is quite nice.
good luck.

Hang in there and don't give up. I was out of school for about a year before I got a gig.
Make work for yourself if you can. Just hit up small clients and take the time do do some fun work on your own terms. You get paid, cool work, and portfolio pieces.
Good luck.

i would have given you a kickass job if this thread were about 1.5 months older...
good luck though

your work is solid. it wouldn't hurt to get opinions on your cover letter and resume from friends. ask everyone to read it and ask for comments.
there are several online resources for cover letters too. hang in there.

I updated the work section slightly with the suggestions I've gotten. Made it obvious the selected work button is a button (i think) the number of images always show up with a description and if you keep clicking over it will go to the next project...anything else?
oh yeah so the grassy bg is pixely i actually made it like that cause i thought it was cool...ill change it thought..im not cool..

Grab your portfolio...get in a barrel...and go over the falls.
You'll get plenty of media attention and latte drinking Creative Directors everywhere will say 'Where has this creative bastard been all my life, we need him as part of our company STAT'.

In the contacts page you've
"removed" the text boxes... after clicking the first time the client might be lost.

it takes so long to go through your portfolio. after a few clicks. I don't really want to see the rest.
Your site is pretty simple and clean, so you should keep the concept of simplicity when you design your portfolio page.
If you apply for work and the employer gets 50 resumes, and he has to look through everyone's chances are yours will get skipped because the preview for your porfolio is very cumbersome. I don't think the AD will sit there and click through and review every image.
just a thought.

i agree with piper, maybe it's just me, i have the attention span of a 90 year old guatamalen slave, but i need things to be simple otherwise, i go bye bye.
