Well, we are designers. If we want corporate america to stop appropriating underground culture, we could put our foot down and not do it.

my belt studded belt is made by some girl in a punk store.
they gave me the dirtiest look as she made the belt for me.
maybe its cause i didnt dress like a charact from matrix nor had black makeup on.

I don't buy Nike, but at the same time I don't kid myself into thinking that New Balance or whatever is full of fair-employment practices.
I also don't thumb my nose to people who buy Nike, only to those who are aware of their practices and continue to work for them.
I understand we all need to put food on our plates, but we also need to balance that with some integrity.

i would say nike is beyond "trying" to break into the skate market, they are very much a major part of it now.
