Try finessing the size of the elements and type. I agree that reducing the color palette and tightening up the grid would help. I decided that explaining grids is best left to books and visual references so I threw this together to illustrate how you can reinforce the grid and give this more structure. I hope you don't mind.

it needs a grid. testpilot very nice.
With a grid it will help you manage the content better. Expecially because of the limited size.
