The president of godaddy.com writes: "should we close gitmo? no way!"
I closed my godaddy accounts.

why would he post some political bullshit on a blog? why don't you just put all your money in a pile and burn it.
- kerus0
i honestly don't care if he burns kittens in his free time. there's no way im pulling all my accounts (20+?) and wasting an entire day explaining it to people..

he probably could care less what people think of him

(Jun 21 05, 11:17)that's fine...but doesn't he have a family to support? just a thought

if he makes a couple papers with this, some people might not know Godaddy, look it up and go WTF we are paying 4 times that for our domain.
but he has a point, gitmo is a tool that has been missmanaged and abused, just like the army. It should be closed because there is no use for that tool but that's a matter of opinion. If you say it has a use you fix it. Or next they can close down the army and melt all guns.

i was under the impression that there are two things strangers should never talk about; religion and politics...
why people in business feel the need to align themselves politically is beyond my comprehension.
after all, you run the risk of alienating a significant number of your customers.

I know it doesn't make much difference but it felt good to be able to be able to take a few bucks away from the Bush-supporting nut job.

yet I see no one swearing off stupid actors that open their mouths on a daily basis about politics. Pansies.

nubbler that's cool, good for you. godaddy says yes to gitmo and you get out yet bush said yes (and still does) to the war and you stay in cushy california.
big fuck offs to you. either you go all the way or don't go at all.

I know I am probably in the minority here, but I feel he raises good points about Gitmo. We do need the information fron those prisoners, there does need to be a change. More information keeps us safe at home and our soldiers safe abroad.
And if any of you have any problems with the way we are "torturing" their POW's, read books or stories written by POW's of past wars. They way we treat them is very humane compared to the way that they treated their captives.
One story sticks out in particular where a British serviceman in Iraq had his teeth drilled repeatedly. They would also beat him with 2x4's and the butts of their gun. His only escape from the torture was when his body would shut down, allowing him a few precious moments respite from the pain.
Im not saying I'm for the war, but I want our men to come home safe, and I want to be safe at home.
Ok, im getting off my soapbox.

I have far too many domains registered with them to spend (waste) my time transferring them..and there customer service has always been topnotch
That said, anyone notice how in the post JanetJackson Tittygate GoDaddy was the only company to run a sexy add during the superbowl (hooter-type girl..suggestive dialogue and poses)..no is that because Mr. GoDaddy knew he could get away with it because he supports the Republicans?
(See yesterday's conspiracy thread....)

what are you saying, kOna - I should flee the US if I don't like torture?
- fugged0
meh... godaddy sucks arse anyway. i'd love to see them take a flying fuck.

jpaw61 - the whole point of the debate is that the US has always had high standards in regards to prisoner treatment and supported the Geneva conventions, even when our enemies didn't. And there is a good, legitimate and practical reason for doing this. You maintain the moral high ground (in Empire speak that's known as "Soft Power"- whatthe US excelled at more than any other world spanning civilization/Empire).
That we have forsaken that stance is pretty sad and indicitive to me of how the leadership of the US really cares about the reputation and standing of the US as the leader of the Free world.
