OK, I decided. On my way home tonite I am going to buy a cheap back up guitar (already have a good one), an MXR 90 phase pedal and a new digitech Distortion Factory pedal. Spend the weekend learning all the Van Halen songs I already don't know.

you just can't beat a les paul, so run to your local pawn shop and buy the nicest les paul copy you can find. mines called a westminster.

I hate Les Pauls. I am not a les paul guy at all..cut my teeth on strats. I love the way pauls sound, but I can't play them for s**t. The fenders fight back a bit...

I'm just in an Eddie Van Halen mood. When I was younger I refused to listen to him because everyone and they're mother tried to play like him. Now his style sounds fresh to my ears again...

Some of the lower end Fenders are good, and Ibanez makes some solid lower end models as well..and the one I am thinking of picking up today sounds and plays real nice despite the crappy pickups and faux body finish - which is the music man EVHmodel - I think...let me look around for it online...
