WHY DID YOU WANT/HAVE TO LEAVE?
Most importantly, has it been better than your last job?

my boss was the biggest piece of scum to walk earth!
actually that was 3 jobs ago.
latest last job i left because i was leaving the country.

I left because the company were shit, the work was shit and the bosses were gobshite tossers who paid themselves so much, the company made no money. Oh, did I mention the company were shit.

I spent the last couple of years doing corporate high end stuff, i got bored with it and moved on. I am now doing public sector and charity stuff. Unsure about the next step – fashion perhaps or porn, undecided.

i left for the exact same reason as jamble.

I never left my job before bacause my current job is my first full-time, but friends of mine once left his job because he thought he was worth more than he was getting. He said he tried once asking for more, but his boss told him that he couldn't afford to pay more.
So he thought that this company doesn't seem to really wants to keep him.
My friend told me he was a little insulted by that.
he said, "what am I in this place? so you can pay this much, but you can hire another emploee cheaper."
He was pissed and next job he got 5k more. and he's still thinking of more.
I'm actually think of asking too, but I'm very anxious now.

i was promised high numbers salary-wise by the 3rd month and after 2 years never got it. they had me running two departments and i found out they were paying my employees MORE than me.

I left because my boss was horrible and stiff.
The customers were really nice and most of the co-workers as well, but it was fast-action and took a toll on me physically.
I'm looking forward to having a job that I really enjoy. I know it's not realistic to want everything to be perfect, but that's my aim right now.

my last job was at a bank, interning occasionally on the side. this is my first real job in the field. been going on 4.5 years.

my last job has nothing to do with my field now but i quit because after cooking for 5 hours and cleaning grills for another 2 hours, only to find your locker was broken into and you had to take the subway home in your cook's uniform, it was a very humbling experience though

I was hired as a contractor to help CNET/gamespot with 2004 e3 materials. 2 month contract to the day. see ya.
I wish i was still there, better projects and the game industry is fun.

I left my last job because we kept getting bought out by bigger and bigger companies, and gettign more corporatized.
Then we went public on NYSE and then the job sank further into suck-shitiness.
Bosses had creative say, yet no creativity. We were paid shite. Every day was a battle, so I bounced.
I moved to L.A., I get paid WAY more, and I can be more creative. My advice is if your job is stifling you then get the F out. F those a-holes. Your the shiznit. Act liek it.
Whew! I'm done.

There are a few reasons that this is my last day at work. As cool as the people here are...I find the atmosphere very clinical and uninspiring.
I have only ever worked in smaller agencies of 20 - 30 people, so to work at a place of 130 with all the crap that goes along with that...well that had a lot to do with it. I am also a firm believer that the creation of HR departments are a good sign that things are going to go to shit.
As I said - love the people here but was hot and cold on the work. Purely financial info. architecture and design for online brokerages. Interesting, and totally frustrating at the same time, especially coming from a B2C/B2B design background as I have.
I gave it a shot, and 16 months later I am done. No regrets, a lot of good experience, and a few friends made.
On to bigger and brighter things, it looks like I'll be taking an Art Director position at an agency downtown.

I finally got a promotion at my gig. Jr. Art Director. I'm pretty stoked, they've already assigned me projects to the most major clients we have.
