one time when i was in NYC, my friends roommate wanted to meet these FIT chicks he knew. so we go to the village and meet them then head off to a bar. after like a half hour one of the girls is all over me. now, under normal circumstances, this would have been sweet cos she was this banging australian chick, but i kept telling her i had a girlfriend and she was all like 'i dont give a fuck'.
so i spent most of the night trying to get away from her, doing everything i conceivably could to do so. then, at the end of the night, when we were leaving, she was like 'so are you coming home with me?' and i was like 'um, no.' and she fucking flips her shit. she was slapping me in the chest, taking my friends hat off and throwing it at me, yelling and shit.
it wasnt until after that my buddy's roommate was like 'yeah, man, sorry for not warning you but most FIT chicks are tapped in the head.'
so, in conclusion, if you are single, meet her. you will probably get laid. however, if you dont think she's your type when you meet her, run for the fucking hills before you guys even have a chance to talk.

I have twice, in Texas, gone out with two different girls I met on the web during college. One was through a personals site, there other was someone who signed my geocities guestbook. The former and I went on one date, where she turned out to be a bit larger than I had hoped, and additionally she had those Hee-Haw teeth that didn't show up in her pics.
We talked for a while over IM and then the phone, and after a month or so went on a date.
Back at her place after eating, we were just sitting on the couch talking, and somewhere in there she placed her hand on mine.
I got that vibe that it would have been nearly effortless to take the night wherever we wanted to. That hand slide was merely her signal that I shouldn't be so nervous...
We had talked for a while and gotten to know each other somewhat well, so there wasn't all that unfamiliarity except for physical.But, I didn't advance on her hints, and went home. I wasn't that attracted to her in person and would have felt awful taking advantage of the situation like that. But it was still hot in it's own way, a great fantasy of what never was to carry on in life.

My girlfriend of 2 1/2 years and I met through the personals that are with The Onion website. I found my way there through nerve.com.
It was cool, we both were seeking each other out after finding our profiles. You have to pay to send a message on there, so I guess there's some sincerity in sending/receiving a message.
It's crazy, after all this time we're still the same people we described in our profiles. Pretty awesome. We have/had alot of the same interests and were very compatible from the first date we went on. Second date was her coming along to watch me play/sing a solo show...work that magic.
But it's been great. Always use caution with meeting people on the web, but great things can come of it. There's a nice thing about getting to know someone over the web and phone without making any real attachment. If you go out and like each other, the feeling is really nice, you feel like you're friends already, and hopefully trust each other.

one more story:
i was the quarterback for my high school football team and after a close win we had, i made it onto the cover of the boston globe sports section. after that i got this IM from a chick like 'i saw you in the globe yesterday and thought you were really hot' (which is weird because i was fully padded in football gear). so i asked her how she got my name and she said she looked it up in the AOL member directory. then i realized i didnt put my name in the directory.
so we get to talking and she tells me she works at a local restaurant as a host and that i should come by. i decided to check her out with a buddy of mine because she couldnt have known what i looked like. so we go by, and i see she is really hot. so i have my buddy go up and be like 'excuse me, whats your name?' and she says it, and it matches what she told me online and she was like 'why?' so he made up some story about how he was told to ask for the host by name and request a table.
anyways, i didnt go up and talk to her, mainly because i think it was one of my friends fucking with me. the more i thought about it, the more i realized that something was fishy in the way she found my screen name. either someone she knew knew me and she never brought it up or it was one of my friends trying to fuck with me.
