I have twice, in Texas, gone out with two different girls I met on the web during college. One was through a personals site, there other was someone who signed my geocities guestbook. The former and I went on one date, where she turned out to be a bit larger than I had hoped, and additionally she had those Hee-Haw teeth that didn't show up in her pics.
We talked for a while over IM and then the phone, and after a month or so went on a date.
Back at her place after eating, we were just sitting on the couch talking, and somewhere in there she placed her hand on mine.
I got that vibe that it would have been nearly effortless to take the night wherever we wanted to. That hand slide was merely her signal that I shouldn't be so nervous...
We had talked for a while and gotten to know each other somewhat well, so there wasn't all that unfamiliarity except for physical.But, I didn't advance on her hints, and went home. I wasn't that attracted to her in person and would have felt awful taking advantage of the situation like that. But it was still hot in it's own way, a great fantasy of what never was to carry on in life.
