devaur.. hope you fix your bookmarks soon... :)
Anyone else with known names (agencies) in the industry of both cities?
- kbags0
they both suck dude. move to LA and be a poser like me, lol!
- Mimio0
You have to decide for yourself, go to the hearts of both cities. Chicago's heart is maybe around Clark & Upper Wacker Drive.
- mg330
Are you nuts Mimio!
Chicago's heart is in my office where I'm pounding Dos Equis by the bottle!!!
- Mimio0
Either that...or it's sliding up and down the banisters at the Smart Bar drunk out its mind.
- mg330
Haha, maybe I'll spot it as I walk over to Borders to look for a book on CSS.
Or should I just head home and keep drinking?
You have two minutes to decide my fate!
- Mimio0
Go home... drink...call friends immediately.

haha. Smart Bar? the Metro's Smart Bar? God, I love that venue. Awesome shows.
My office shut down around 1pm or so today. We've just been playing around all afternoon. Lots of Oberon and Tecate.
As for my take on the Chicago, I'm a 20 year old intern at a small (about 13 employees) design/market firm and I couldn't be happier with the city and the company. It'll be a lot better in a week when I turn 21, though. Most of the females are gorgeous, awesome music scene, nice people, lots to do, whatever you want. I've heard it a bunch of times here that Chicago is "NYC done right".
I haven't been to portland, so I can't help there. Sorry.

We'll be there two weeks from tomorrow!!!

probe3 thanks.
Mg33, so did it work out for you going to chicago?
- mg330
pulsar_nl,
Job wise, it took a while. Keep in mind that I packed and moved on Sept. 11, 2001.
I worked retail part time for a while, then temped for a while, then worked as the receptionist at the law firm I'm at, where I've now been in the Marketing department for 1 1/2 years and have slowly phased into doing a majority of things I went to school for.
Web design/development, learning web security aspects for extranets, designing extranets, doing print work, client services, and have a hand in our firm rebranding efforts. It's fun and I really like it, and I bet there are many other people who go through a similiar path to actually doing what they hope/want to do.
