skt, bullocks...
It's already done online and it's called cookies. They are tried and true and have been proven to streamline activities and be secure. I'm saying lets implement them into our bodies in the real world.
With the Sublime Engine we can all network in our heads, freeourselves from the chains and confines of the personal computer. This is about freedom.

sweetness. whats a moontower?
- Kuz0
i guess you're just not seeing the "bigger picture"

(May 11 05, 10:26)I am going home. You are a simpleton. Cookies do not know what I had for breakfast and they do not have access to my bank account.
- randoman0
Don't underestimate the power of the cookie.
And the chip should naturally pick up where the cookie left off... in the name of progress.
- randoman0
Perhaps they will be more welcomed if we call then "Chocolate Chips" or "Blueberries". Cookies are accepted and they sound nice and cute.. afterall who wants to refuse a cookie - this is the first word of many children... it really hits home.

Foucault is a romantic Marxist.

good point about living in euro land, I'd like to see one of these winers try to get a german driver's license (I gots one).
- chossy0
I guess not Kuz.
If you call learning form a skilled worker extracting knowledge, I would call that something better like learning from the master or improving things by studying who is getting good at it.
And of course power in society is percieved as many complex machanics or whatever, because we live in cities and have developed veru very rapidly and power is no longer simply balls and physical strength. Freedom of concience is dangerous of fucking course it is it's a medical condition.
I am not sure if it's not you that doesn't see the bigger picture Kuz I truly believe the people in charge of our country have our best interests at heart.
- Kuz0
and.....?
(though there;s nothing romantic about him, what a ridiculous thing to say - neoMarxist would be a slightly more appropriate term, though only slightly)

In Germany, wherever you live, your info must be registered with the police. If you move and dont tell them, and you want to do something like open a savings account, or get a job even, you cant - not until you register.

I don't think that's what he's talking about chossy.

oh and also
KabaddiKabaddiKabaddiKabaddiKaba...
i do hope we don't fall out over this Kuz as I'm not sleeping on the lumpy couch again :(

I'm all for it. People are way too paranoid. Like the government has the manpower or resources to track the movements of 295,734,134 people (pop as of July 04).
Geith
(May 10 05, 19:10)exactly, people are being WAY too paranoid

It's said that if you put a frog into boiling water it will sense the danger immediately and leap out.
However, if you put a frog into tepid water and slowly raise the heat it will never notice but it will die.
Having lived in the UK for 4 years and as a former US resident I can say that it's a treat to be able to go out with nothing but cash and not feel like a criminal for not carrying ID. I don't need one to buy booze, I don't have to produce one to use the transport system, I don't even have to produce one when I'm stopped by the police for not having a train ticket.
Those that want to commit fraud will find ways to commit fraud, those that want to commit crimes will commit crimes. Same goes for terrorism, restrictions such as the Real ID seem to only effect those that are honest. It goes further to promote a culture fear and distrust of your fellow citizens. You are no one without your ID and you will be arrested or at least treated with suspicion until your ID is verified. Which means that basically the same freedom that I have here in the UK to travel anonymously without evidence besides my own words is slipping towards non-existence in the US and everyone seems to be happy about that. But I have a different experience than most, having had the ability to live in what I consider to be a much freer country in some respects and the contrast especially in regards to topics such as this and how the UK and American populations react is startling.
The water will continue to get warmer.

simplify it then, why use analogies and big words and confusing sentences, that only you can understand I want to know what I should be afraid of I am more afraid that only you clever people know what to be scared of and you are keeping it to yourself by being all aloof and not sharing your knowledge the English language.

Mmmm hmmm. I'm an old generation Xer. About ten years ago I read some stupid book that said that Gen Y (whatever that means but I am assuming it"s most of you) would be all trusting of the government and want to participate and support blah blah blah. Sure. Right. Like I trust governemnt. Like I trust THIS government? One that lied to go to war? That probably rigged an election. Sure - let them implement a national ID card in the middle of the night with not a peep in the mainstream media? Sure yup. Sounds great...
Guess so. And this is how freedom ends - with applause.
ANd I'll only be paranoid until the day you all realize I was right.

(May 11 05, 10:26)that's so 1999. i dunno about you but the computer doesn't free or enslave me. and i feel the most free when i'm naked. getting a bj. i don't need a chip in my head to feel free.
i know the positives of this type of networking, and i think the negatives out weigh the positives.
you say freedom, i say it's control. thus, i'll stay paranoid!
