Jaz i worked with a guy who stood while he worked... he had a special kiosk-like desk...
he injured his back in a car accident and can't sit down for more than 30 mins without it starting to hurt... pretty crazy.

Just go to office max or depot and try out chairs. u can find an ok one for under $100 or maybe even a wannabe aaron chair, which cost like a fafillion ducks.

I bought an Eames aluminum group chair from a fleamarket furniture store in Detroit. I cost like $40 and is in close to perfect condition.
I have a Steelcase Leap chair at work. I like it, it can get a bit hot compaired to something like an Aeron chair because it doesn't breath... but is very comfortable and much more affordable.

Right now I have the Pollock Executive by Knoll, definitely recommend it, you can find it on ebay for around $500 (vs $2000 new).
- a knockoff of that eames one was too tall to fit under my desk, The arms would bump... may be an issue with the real one too.monNom
- The pollock looks very nice, no doubt, but is it really something you can work in for hours on end? The arms alone look like punishment on both chairs.monospaced
- The eames at least looks like it has adjustable pieces and some ergonomic thought, but the Pollock doesn't look like it's all about task supportmonospaced
- They both have a rather low back, which might make the arms appear too high to you guys, but they're both very comfortable.spl33nidoru
