overestimate? funny word.
it's not that. maybe it's just because it seems more organized and complete and even related to other areas.
maybe time fixs it as you say, rabbatski.

Art has always been about porn hasn't it?
Another reason for me to be forced into my corset!

elitist fuckers

it def. is more organized and it is indeed more accessible like someone said before due to computers but the game remains the same and as said before, quality survives quantity.
so i don't worry.
plus i think it's very progressive to have as many as aspiring artists. see on the one hand side, in order to make good stuff you need to know what is bad. if no one's making bad crap no one can make good crap. next thing is that it promotes competition and thus increases quality. etc.

say kuz do you happen to have a wittgenstein quote for this? if possible from wittgenstein 2 please.

aww rabattski.

no need for bitterness

maybe that's the word, but it doesn't have to stand for anything bad. anyone who studies deep into any field tries to preserve that knowledge and likes it so.
i remember being scorned at school just because i couldn't talk about motorbikes and i thought: elitist fuckers.
- rabattski0
:) nah kuz you didn't. maybe a wee lill bit but that's just because i think quoting wittgenstein is the same as quoting empty spaces. know what i mean? but elitist fucks fer sure ;)

If you're decent, you'll get work. I'd imagine that quality will out. The increase in designers is because of the increased access to the PC.
I'm new to design myself, and I'd like to work in the sector because it's fun - pure and simple.
In the non-design world there are either shite jobs, or no jobs - that's the alternative. Maybe you're concerned because you see people with 6 months experience who churn out fantastic, inspiring work?

not everyone is good artists

"In the non-design world there are either shite jobs, or no jobs - that's the alternative."? i assume that's in your case trousermouse.

hitman's cool job. dictator's cool job and kona's no talent agent's cool job as well. the list goes on and on.
- Trousermouse0
Yes - in my case Rabbatski - I'm not particularly well educated. Not with the right skills anyway.
