Kona, you missed my point. its not that this dude is fixable... cuz he's obviously way gone. its the bigger picture man. we need to fix the system so there wont be more of him.
Give the mentally ill proper attention at a young age before they turn into this dude. At this point they are merely pushed thru the system.
Properly educate the poor.
Then people say: he had the same opportunity as everyone else? I find it funny that most of those type of comments come from privaledged white people in stable mental health.
I'm out now... peace.

Kona, dont forget jumped out of a 3 story window, sounds like this guy wants to be put out of his misery.
But, go ahead Mimio, give him a back rub and tell him it will be OK, and when he bites your ear off, I'll say I told you so.

"last time i saw someone like that it was george the animal steele. and that guy was fucked out of his mind."
useless fact of the day:
prior to his career in professional wrestling, george the animal steel was a gym teacher.
- ghandolf0
//Apparently Ghandolf in his professional medical opinion has assessed this guy and determined he is in complete control of his mental/physical faculties.
Good going, you've judge someone from reading a 50 line article from CNN.com.

(Apr 28 05, 10:15)I did not claim to be a doctor.
I have not evaluated the man.
I did not judge him.
I did not advocate killing him.
I did not recommend releasing all mentally ill patients. Those have all been your misleading retorts to my simple explaination on how this man can, and has chosen to conduct himself in his life. Society has HAD to enact laws to deal with this kind of person. That's how society works. If you won't play by the rules, your freedoms are taken away.
Please do not twist my words to and bolster your position.
- Mimio0
Ghandolf,
You're claiming this guy was capable of controlling his behavior. From my perspective he's clearly mentally ill, and long overdue for some treatment.

that picture is scary as fuck.. why is there blood on the mask though?
- radar0
I think thats from biting his lip.
- nLHb0
it's from the rabies
- ghandolf0
No, I did not. I don't know the man or anything about him, (except for the 50 line article on CNN.com that this thread referred me to) nor have I evaluated his condition, and neither have you.
I merely responded to a post that suggested that people cannot be changed, shaped, or molded using treatment, education, or incarceration.
The post I responded to said...

You fix a tree at the roots, not by chopping off the leaves. The only fix is education and rehabilitation at an early age.
Who wants to bet this dude is from a poor inner city home with no male role model
******************
This last statement suggests that everyone born in a poor inner city with no male role model, will kill a cop and grow up to be a menace to society. This is also not true. Talk about generalizations! This man didn't get to be 26 years old without someone noticing that he's got 'issues'. And if that's the case, then yes, I agree that it's sad and he should have the opportunity for treatment.
I'm not advocating the death penalty for anyone. I also do not know the man's history or what he may or may not have been through in his life. For you to suggest that I do, is ludicrist.
We can argue all you want for the sake of argueing if that's what you want. But he is in the hands of the authorities now, and rightly so.. and clearly he doesn't want their help. You can be sure that he will have several evaluations of his mental capacity, as all prisoners do in this country, before any action is taken against him. And if he lives in California, or any of most of the other states here, he will never be put to death.

(Apr 28 05, 11:31If anyone has exhibited a 'professional medical evaluation' as you have accused me of doing, it's you.

" He is NOT now, and has never been without his own choices to make in this life as to what is best for him long term."
"...to my simple explaination on how this man can, and has chosen to conduct himself in his life. "
I'm justing saying that since this guy is probably mentally ill, it's reasonable to assume he's sick and not in complete control of his actions. You were saying otherwise.

You gotta love it here in Rhode Island!

I bet hes an out of work designer - shunned by society, and this causes him to lash out at authority figures.

(Apr 28 05, 12:11)God, you people are claazzy...
I didn't make the statement. And keeping in mind the original conduct of this man, (as we know it to be only from the article written about him), with reference to his behavior, that comment SUGGESTS that the reason is, because he grew up in a poor inner city home with no male role model, and that is to blame for his behavior.
Why didn't you intrepret that to be misleading? I didn't say it did mean that, I said it suggested that it did. And if that wasn't what he meant to say by saying it, then I guess I don't know what he was trying to say, or why he said it... you'd have to ask him.
- mrdobolina0
you arent very good at the internets.

NO, He just doesn't like being called out for saying stupid shit. In his fury he trips over his own words.

and it is 'ludicrous' not 'ludicrist'
