i'm going to have to disagree.
here is the problem. there are not enough jails, the ones we have are full, so they start letting out people on 'good behavior' so they can let in guys who they think are worse.
how many times have you gone to cnn and read 'child killed by man with previous convictions of child molestation.' blah blah. he was released and killed again.
so then you have these advocates against the death penalty. ok. fine. where do we put them? then they say 'more jails... but not in my back yard.' ok. great. (some of this is from george carlin). so we build more multimillion dollar jails with our tax money so we can put more men and woman away for the rest of their lives while putting a roof over their head, food in their belly, and because some bastard who killed 20 people complains about the 'living conditions of prison' now they come plusher than my fucking house. thanks to the assholes of the world who think these low life scumbags deserve a good life. fuck you.
you want to rehab this guy? let him live in your house. you feed him, you let him use your shower. you 'fix him mentally'. would YOU do that?

the facts aren't all in for this case and honestly by killing a cop his chances of having a fair trial are slim. this guy is a prime target to the police right now.
now I'm not trying to assume anything here but their is a possiblity of some serious payback by any cop that gets a chance. There are some good cops and bad ones but they protect themselves to the fullest...

I think the real problem is in education. Private schools are the enemy. More funding for public schools and after school programs. Make rich kids go to public schools so there is white collar attention being paid. Then people like this dude could have found some help when it actually would have mattered. His issues could have been addressed while he was young....
