Don't worry Leah. You'll just end up with millions of viruses like the rest of us :P

Apple had 3.7% in U.S. PC market share for the first quarter of 2005.
That is not a lot at all, think about it. And especially if most people are buying iMacs and Mac Mini's, I doubt they are professionals.

i know! lol
i can see that i am outnumbered here in this thread though so i am leaving

Really, I hope to hell Adobe favors Linux over Mac. I want to switch from Windows so bad, but I love the price and power PC's afford me.

what the hell? ha!

i got a pop-up running firefox on linux the other day. suprised the hell out of me.
viri, malware, crackers, etc...will do what they want.
linux and unix were and still are the main targets of most *real* hackers.
windows just makes it easier. windows also makes it more destructive due to their shitty software.
i equate it to this, you have a house. one window is triple-pane, tempered glass and the other window is single-pane, 100 year old glass. a robber is trying to get in, he throws a brick into the first window and it only breaks the first pane and cracks the second...he has to try again. or he throws a rock into the single-pane window and it shatters immediately giving him access.
that is linux vs. windows. neither are full-proof...but linux takes a lot more time and a hell of lot more skill to get into than windows.

and i don't think apple is going to ever die, they've been "dying" for about 15 years now. though their market share is only 3.7%, that's actually up from about 2.5% a couple years ago. and macs really aren't that much more expensive. and this is interesting too:

it's pretty safe to but a mac. remember, the reason for adobe buying mm was o compete with ms. shutting apple out kind of goes against this. i'm sure this is just another rumor.
on a side note, corel freehand anyone?

the shitty thing about mac hardware is that you can't just clone your own box.
you can't build a whitebox mac.
let's do a price comparison.
1.8ghz g5, 256mb, 80gb hdd = ~$1500
2.8ghz dell, 512mb, 80gb sata hdd = ~$1400
very comprable. but, with pc hardware, i can build a box that is half that cost and twice, to 3x the power. can't do that with a mac.
if mac allowed that, it would rule the market...no question.
