oh dude, that's some serious debugging / playing detective right there.

Rabattski you're right it wasn't only the domain name resolving problem. Here's what happened:
1) The domain name was still resolving. But the client was seeing the new site for two days.
2) Suddenly the page reverted back to the old site
3) Teh client when to his typepad account (that's what the old page was, a typepad blog) and turned the typepad domain mapping off. This caused a 404 for the old site. Here's a good article on it: http://www.jamiejamison.com/tech…
I only later found out that the domain mapping was deactivated.
Thanks for all your input!

works tips tops

nah it has nothing to do with resolving the domain name in this case imo.
if the domain name can't be resolved you get an error that the server can't be found, if the server can't be found you never will get a 404 error in other words the domain name resolves out ok.
i think the problem is in the redirecting to the subfolder theglory/

Duh! Why didn't I think of that.

you can always use the IP address.. as long as your paths are relative.

Ok...
Site was working fine,
Then it switched back to the "old site"
Then it 404's for random peopleThe domain name must still be resolving. Tho it's strange that it worked great for two days. :\
Thanks for your time everybody! And thanks for the screenshot version3. I sent it to my client.
...wow NT rocks. :)

- Cptn_Uncanny0
It resolved two days ago (switched it on Saturday). Would it suddenly switch back again?
