The movie is great, but im more interested in the camera he used to do it.
Has anyone used it? Any comments? Is there something better than this in the price range?

i used a Canon eos 10D before setteling with a 300D, i dont really need the fancy stuff anyway
20D seems to kick ass with burst frames, 23 pictures continuous at 5 frames a second

Next best thing would be to get 20D's younger sibling.
Canon EOS 350D.
Nikon has something up their sleeve though; might want to see what there up to before you make a purchase.
But as far as comments go on the 20D--I've used (extensively enough) the 10D, and if the 20D is better, (which it is) than it's unbelievable.
In my opinion, the Canon EOS 20D is the best camera on the market with in it's range of DSLR's. No contest.
That is, of course, until Nikon unveils it's plans for the predecessor of the D70.
Lets see.

Yeah the 20D far surpasses the 10D with burstrate, it has the MARK II chip and also writes a JPG with RAW which is super nice. I love the 20 D and for the price it only makes sense.

"I love the 20 D and for the price it only makes sense."
Damn Strait.

I have the 10D and I think it's burst rate is 3 frames per second. I don't use the function that often.
That effect could just as easily have been done outputting video from a camcorder at 5 frames per second. And it would have been a lot less tedious.

Personally I found that movie bloody annoying.
But that's probably just me.

nikon is going to have the same chips as everyone else... sony who supplies nikon or chips has decided to stop making CCD and switch to Cmos... so if that is a deciding factor then... screw it all the cameras are going to have the exact same chip size... but I shoot with a 20D better focusing system than rebal or 10D... it's mos deff a good product

wouldnt recommend the 350D at all - we've been using them at work for the past couple of weeks and there's some serious image quality concerns. And the purple fringing from the 300D's still there too.
Might be more expensive, but the 20Ds definitely the way to go until Nikon does its thing.

Been looking into this and myself and the 20D is good value for money. The next model up is the 1D mkII which has the same chip and the quality of the image is fantastic.
The build quality on the 1D mII is more pro than the 20D but it costs another 1.5K so it depends on what you want.
My recent research suggested that Cannon are the best at this end of the digital market.
A lot of pro-photographers now use the Cannon range. Anyone using Nikons probably does so because they have a legacy kit of lenses which fit.
I used to use Nikon but if buying from scratch would opt for Cannon since the lens quality is better.

the camera with the resolution we were using can take up to 64 pictures.
it would be though to ahieve similar result with video camera for several reasons. One being that the size of the chip and the lense allowed us to blur the bg at night so the specs of light become abstract patterns rather then light fixtures of a structure. The only other way to ahieve it would be to use Mini35 but that would loose 2f stops or using true HD cameras which would require way too much set up.

it's racist!

I have a 10D and love it...
I picked up the 20D and fell in love with it..it's a tad smaller and lighter (than the 10D) and when it comes to burst rate it blows aways the 10D.
This is only an issue if you want your cam for action photos. (which do)
Although the 20D as a similar chipset as the EOS1 and has slightly more resolution than the 10D...I'd rather spend the money on glass.
That said, if i were to do it all over, I'd fork over the extra ducet for the 20D over the 350D/XT.
My next cam body will probably skip the 20D and go straight for the MarkII

nice nic, thx_1138!
