will there be a time limit per entry?
are we building something that will be combined into one, or segments to compare?
should we all use some basic elements to retain congruency, then all go off in our respective directions?

i personally don't have time for a 3 or 4 minute track on my own, so segments would be best for me
i think we should have a section of track and start and end our pieces with a black frame or something so we can link 'em all together easily
it would be good to keep it all together with a common color scheme or some kind of element
the theme should be something that would accommodate the different styles we add
like a dream or something

We should come up with a very general them... then give out segments of the song...
... ie: version3 has :20 - :35 and render your peice at a specific size (the same for everyone of course)...
... then someone takes everything in the end and applies it the segments to the track.

i'll start with my idea, which is a series of david lynchian type dreams
they don't have to make sense
we'll post tracks for approval once we've settled on a theme

as far as size, i say we keep it at 320x240. seems pretty standard and also not long downloads uploads.
And 15 seconds per person/clip is cool with me.
I want to use a faster electronic song, it lends itself to more motion imo, seeing as which we only get 15 seconds

I think we should work to an NTSC standard though... in case you wanted to create a DVD of this in the end.
I figure if we're each doing 15 - 30 second segments... it shouldn't be a big deal to work at 648 x 486 or 720 x 486.

it needs a deadline for entry so stragglers can't add on and screw the math involved.
depending on the number of participants it will be easier to determine how long of a track and how long each person gets
ie. 3min track
30 sec clips = 6 people
15 sec clips = 12 peoplei say the track should be no longer than 5 min because of total file size w/ vid/aud
so 5min track:
30 sec clip = 10 people
15 sec clip = 20 peoplehow many people are actually going to submit and complete thier segment?

dvd quality is still only 480 lines...
sooo... I dunno... it's not huge at all... I'd just like to see it play nicely on a 4:3 setup (regular TV)... just in case. :)
Again... the segments are small, so it shouldn't be a big deal.

there's a bt track called "dreaming" that's 5:20
but it's kinda cheesy dated trance
a disco-pop moloko track called "fun for me" that's about weird dreams and clocks in at 3:48
