donzo, my boss apologizing? ha ha. that's a good one. i don't think that will happen.
if he wants to treat us like every other employee in the office, then that's what he'll get.
thanks for chatting about this all...it's very good for me to get it out here, rather than replying to my boss and possibly having some static with my boss for lunch.
i can't wait for my hour lunches...it's been about 3 years since i've taken one. =) i'm going to enjoy monday.

About 5 - 20 minutes late every day. The train timetable says I should get here in time. :/

yes, i agree - have a chat with him about scheduling, if that goes nowhere, do everything by the book: show up exactly at 9:00 and leave exactly at 5:00.
It's such a trivial point - especially if you're making deadlines and putting out top notch work....
If they can't cut you some slack, I wouldn't go out of my way to put forth the extra effort.
just an opinion.

I'm in the same boat as fusionpixel. I work about 5 feet from my bed so it's difficult to be late. However, I guess you could say starting work at 1pm is kinda late.

live only 2 or 3 miles from work. Most days I'm 20 minutes late.

I'm usually 20 minutes early but thats only because I ride the bus. It's either 20 minutes early or 20 minutes late. so I'm screwed.

always early. been late only once the last four months or so. and i am always out the door at 5. plus i play basketball before work sometimes so i have no time getting in early.
the company's not strict about it - long as you get your work done they're cool. which is how it should be.

i'm consistently late about 30 to 45 minutes, but it's a laid back office so it's not a big deal. i also work through lunch most days to make up for it.
this past week, however, i've made a VERY concerted effort to arrive on time. and it has worked! i am now only 5 to 10 minutes late per day, which is fantastic for me...

I absolutely hate being late, and I am late periodically, but usually I manage to get where I'm going on time. Same with getting there too early. It's obviously better than being late, but it still sucks. And the worst thing about getting there right on time is being paranoid about being late somehow. Yeah.
