Just wondering who here has read the bible, have you read it cover to cover, read a bit, or never seen a page????
We had to read a bit at school, just thought it was wierd that someone i know didnt actually know that Jesus was a Jew, he thought he was Christian!!!! hahahaha

i read the bible twice.
all i can say is that it's not a well written book.
if it would be published now it wouldn't get any rave reviews at all.
and what has the bible to do with newstoday?
or maybe, hold on, we need a bible completely set in avant garde with the alternates.

a catholicly educated friend of mine almost wanted to fight me after I suggested Jesus was Jewish....
don't think it has to do with having read the book or not, much more with indoctrination.

i've read the bible cover to cover out loud with a group of people (it was easier that way).
One of the readons it's so hard to read i found out that it is Hebrew poetry to repeat the last line in a little bit differnt way, and in our culture there's nothing poetic about it.But you can't reall judge it as a single book, there's 66 and there all different, one of them just about sex, some are depressing some are joyful.
but when you figure out what it meant to the old folk it was written to and put that in our culture it's Amazing. (sorry that was too long and boarder line preachy)
