He's got a point in there somewhere Kuz.
I'd don't like the Americans and their mass consumerist culture, nor ours sometimes. Neither do I like cultures that would perform female circumcision. Denying criticism of them is simply sweeping some major issues under the rug, which the top 3 parties willing do.
Kilroy's stance on it is a bit too far to the right though.

moth - that's not the point though. He's not offering a critique of "culture". He's using the most extreme practices of certain peoples, that do no necessarily represent a wider culture of any people, in order to defend Britishness.
In the end that's all his agenda comes down to. It's easy to sell that nonsensical agenda when it's presented as an attack on "female circumcision" and "forced marriages'. He couches his xenophobic nationalism in terms of altruism in order to sound more acceptible. But he needs to consistently narrow the debate to do this. And when you do that, when you narrow the debate for your political agenda like he does, all that is left is bigotry and prejudices - more often than not, of a racial dimension.

What you said Kuz. I'm in agreement with you.
But I don't like the fact that's almost taboo to discus (or even suggest) the differences between races and cultures though.

you're right moth. But you have to be careful when you have that debate. Because it is not an easy debate. There's hypocrisy and contradictions the minute you open that can of worms. It's impossible for it to be political, because you have to be intellectuall honest about it - and intellectual honesty and politics don't mix.
Ask Kilroy what he would feel if we had a situation like in the United States where Spanish has become a second language because of the influx of a hispanic population. Ask him what he would feel if Punjabi became the second language of Britiain. Because in the end that is all he cares about. This isn't cultural criticism. He couldn't give two fucks if thieves in Saudia Arabia have their hands chopped off.
What grates him is if "they" come to this country, wear their clothes, grow their beards, speak their language, eat their food, etc... It is a confused rhetoric because he's too much of a pussy to admit his own racist facsism
