Go Las Vegas Expos!!!
Wooo hoooo!
Ohhhhhhhhhh, wait, they went to Washington D.C.
Fuck :(
- GreedoLives0
nah those dudes are a bit too out there for me. 95% of it is speculation and trash talk, but sometimes i'll read it.
WEEI and the globe is enough for me.
- mattyd0
i hear ya. even WEEI can get a little absurd at times. i actually prefer reading about the sox from outside sources. cant forget gammons though, that dude is the man.
- mattyd0
and im actually thoroughly enjoying looking at damon's wife's rack in the image on the dirt dogs site.

being a mets fan......I am ashamed to say I now have to somehow muster strength to root for pedro....
but all of you have no worries......because normally when we buy a star at an overpriced cost.... they normally suck when they come to the mets and are on their downward spiral and then when they leave they get it going again.... i.e. edgardo alfonzo
has beens we buy
i.e. bonilla, glavine, martinezand the ones we dont shell out the money for....
i.e. rodriguez, delgado, hampton, and the list goes on and on
- GreedoLives0
liquid,
pedro has at least two solid years left in him. no way has he four.
he's a damn good pitcher when he's on, but he's only good for exactly 105 pitches. watch that count, they fired our last manager for not paying attention. i hate to see him go, and he has something to prove down there now, he'll be fine.
he is a frigging diva too tho.

Yanks beat
- kingjulien0
It's a long season, and last night's game was way too overhyped in my opinion. With that said, the Yanks bats were hot, and Wells wasn't sharp at all. It was strange to hear him booed in Yankee Stadium by 50,000 + fans who have admired him for so many years, but I guess it was expected.
I look forward to Shilling and Wade Miller coming back. We need both of them to have a shot at the Yanks.
By the way, did anybody see that special on the 04 championship after the game? Even with Afleck acting like a tool ( as usual), when Varitek was reading thank you letters from fans, I got kind of choked up. It still seems surreal that they won it all.
And yes, Damon's wife is a stunner.
- GreedoLives0
Johnny Damon needs to pay more attention to the game than his hot wife...he bungled about three plays last night.
- mattyd0
it was cool after the sox won it all to call my grandfather who is 84 and talk about it with him. that was probably the best part of the win.
in terms of getting choked up, i always get a lump in my throat when i hear dave roberts describe stealing second and how much it has affected his life.
but im not worried about last night at all. they had their ace going up against our no3/no4 starter. as kingulien said, its a long season...
- kingjulien0
The Dave Roberts steal moves me too. The guy is so likable, and so humbled by all the adulation. It's too bad we couldn't keep him. We'll miss that speed off the bench, but he's too solid to be a 4th outfielder. Plus, I think Jay Payton will do some good things.
Yeah, mattyd, I wish my grandfathers would have been still alive for that phone call. They would have been in tears.
I think Damon will come around. I'm always worried about athletes doing too much, but he's in a contract year, and he's too bright to f*** that up.
Renteria didn't look great either last night, but once he adjusts to the spotlight, watch out. That guy is unbelievable.
By the way, thank god we found a chump for B. Kim. That guy always looked scared.
- GeorgiePorgie0
The chances of the BoSox repeating are slim to none, just be happy with the fact that you finally won one and move aside for the Yanks again.
God Bless you
- kingjulien0
You're probably right about the Sox repeating georgie, but the Yanks won't win it either. By August Randy will be worn out, Kevin Brown will be out for the year, and Giambi will be down to 135 pounds-- offering to trade a happy meal for one last cycle.
By the way, has the story broke yet about A-Rod dating Greg Luganis? Watch out for that one.
You heard it here first.

(Apr 4 05, 11:17)HAHAHHAH!

im actually glad he got sent to the padres. there was a piece in the globe talking about how roberts wanted to thank the people of boston for everything and wanted to thank the management for sending him back to SD to be closer to his folks...
and renteria looked like fucking ass last night. i think he just needs to adjust to the glaring light that is going to be on him from the media and the boston fans, which wasnt as prevelant during the World Series cos he was in the land of laidback fans, St Louis.
my main man Bill "Sex" Mueller was on fire in the field last night though. one of my favorite players on the team. that guy just goes out and plays. when was the last time the number 7 hitter in the order won the batting title? dude is the fucking man.
and i see this year coming down to another ALCS but i see this being an absolute street fight. with nails being dragged across faces, tanyon sturtze selling out his hometown team again (though he is from worcester, not boston, but still), and bill mueller settling everything with another clutch hit off rivera to send the sox to the series again.
- mattyd0
i'm also having a cookout on july 24th this year in my backyard to celebrate the one year anniversary of varitek manhandling a-rod, ortiz getting a monster of a punch off on tanyon surtze and bill 'sex' mueller teeing off on rivera for the win that started the run to the world series. please RSVP but may 1st...

I agree that it was classy to send him to San Diego. I think the best thing about Theo and Co., beyond the wise player acquisitions, is the atmosphere they've created. Boston used to have a terrible reputation amongst players, especially during the Duquette years, and it's nice to see how comfortable everybody is with each other. You don't find players and management on the same side very often.
By the way, mattyd, do you ever read Bill Simmons? I think he's hilarious, and I generally agree with his takes:

(Apr 4 05, 11:25)hahaha. I was listening to that game while driving through the hills of Oakland, and I had to pull over because I was screaming so loud. That was almost as magical as the championship series.
