How do people in the "creative" (oh boy) community feel about the work of Peter Saville? I see it and I love the sensitivity of the work he produces (the NO cover out now is really cool) but how does everyone feel about his work in general?

i think its rad for its time, technically it doesnt feel like rocket science to me but his ideas feel so original that it doesnt matter much. I wondered sort of the same about how much is the photographer he hires as well... but i guess a good idea is a good idea, jsut gotta find help executing it sometimes

He's great. Like others alluded to an idea guy. Check out http://www.showstudio.com for a project he started with Nick Knight.
Some of his older factory work is outstanding. The Blue Monday sleve story (can be seen in 24 Hr Party people for example) is the stuff of ledgend. Not to mention that for the time, it was a work of genius.
Vaughn Oliver is another great from that period. Rick Poyners book on him is def worth picking up. You see the progression of his typographic style from early experimentation to the godlike work in the 90's 4AD stuff.

yup thats her! They went out in the 80's. My mum is a graphic designer also.

like the re-design of london stuff/logo, with the city-scape. The london eye, tower of london etc.

Showstudio is his website. He started it...
And I did hear about the Man City thing. Now you mention it. Ought to be interesting. He's doing the city ID/Brand etc right? I think I read about it in the Guardian.
Would be a wonder if Toronto ever dove off the deep end and got one of it's own to do something simmilar.
