zedvox is right. these are more editorial ads than inspirational
- ibye0
fowler, you might be right. More time and thought might bring me to the actually gold. I guess it is first level. I have another week to kick it around.
Zedvox, I understand what you are saying, but could you really sell the bible to a non religious person? I am a non religious person, and no clever ad campaign could sell it to me. So I guess my audience is religious-curious. Not athetist, not agnostic.
- zedvox0
well even in that case
the msg is not persuavise enough to sway a religious curious person to consider going to a church and picking up a bible. The whole idea of choosing a religous life is a dead serious one. Your concept so far does not convey that seriousness. As i said before all the points you make about the bible are already well-known. Kepp pushing it
hope that helps :)

what about the idea of making an ad that is a book review.
different qoutes like:
Sex, Violence, Redemption, God
really knows his stuff"(something like that)
- zedvox0
why?
- ibye0
Just putting a more modern spin on the bible. Like as if it were another hot novel that you should pick up. Could even do the god blurb thing like they do about authors in the back of a book.
- fowler0
cheesy.
You need a strategy. What are you trying to say, who are you talking to?
- zedvox0
yeah but they already try to do that with xtian heavy metal bands or those guys who caled thesmelves xxxminstries or somethign and went to porn conventions telling people that porn was wrong.
anyways the point is just putting a modern spin is not going to make someone reconsider. The idea of God and Sex being talked about in the same sentence was perhaps fresh like 15 yrs ago.
and the whole modern spin idea is a design choice not a conceptual one.

i like the last concept the best... likening it to the newest, hottest, must-read novel out there.
the other stuff is just 'meh' to me
- driftlab0
Not really adding anything that hasn't already been said. The concept has potential... the delivery needs tweaking.
- _salisae_0
did you write a creative brief?
- ibye0
no creative breif just brainstorming different ideas.
The new hot novel thing is a concept. Maybe one that needs
work, but it is a concept.
- driftlab0
You could use some historical facts maybe like, how it's survived banning attempts, censorship, mass burnings and what-not over the past 1500 + years and remains a best seller. Just a thought.
- ibye0
driftlab, I have that same exact thought written in my book, and I was going over it right now.
There is definitley an idea there.

bible with parental advisory sticker?
- ibye0
What about just straight up fear
Think reading the bible is hard
try eternal hellfire. How are you going to get into
heaven without your ticket?
- zedvox0
if its gonna take empty promises of sex, violence, cheap hot novels and risque history to win the religious curious........welll go ahead do it....those religious types can use some spanking.
- discipler0
eeee, the turn or burn approach always gives me a bad vibe and I think perpetuates a stereotype... but, I guess it goes back to the mission of the campaign.
- ibye0
what? you don't think people will apprecaite being told they will go to hell if they don't read teh bible.
yeah, I guess you're right.
- easy_target0
if its gonna take empty promises of sex, violence, cheap hot novels and risque history.......
have you ever read any part of the bilble zed?
cos these arnt empty promices its all in there...well not the cheap hot novels part......
