hmmm. you do a lot of work for resaurants, Rand...
quite often, professional chefs refer to their cuisine as an artistic creation...
but, by my personal definition, a dish would fall under the definition of design.

anyways, the less rules you have to more easier it becomes to break them in your quest for merging art and design. knowing the differences is merely setting the parameters for rules and thus creating a bigger gap than you already have.
in other words: ignorance is bliss. don't think about it. do your thing. end of story.
