it does make sense but i have to add that it doesn't always have to work that way.

i think it does though.
even here by clicking a nic you can email or view a website. most of these sites contain portfolios.
they, in my opinion are there for the sole purpose of selling the artist before a word is spoken
as designers we sell ourselves with our portfolios.
thats where that thought was coming from

ok well I was about to insult a few people but I just show you the truth instead

as a counter example i could point to the diesel brand in the early days where it had a huge communication problem with its target audience and where marketing repositioned diesel to what it is now which was a post process event.

french smart? what about the king mistreating his people for fortune. french revolution maybe youve heard of it.
we all know that marketing now sells lifestyle not product. i think this discussion is more of why it sucks not how it works and why the way it works sucks

pitchshifter said it long ago and these are the anthems of NT designers
i tried my best, did all that i can.
i don't think i've got a single thing left that i can call my own.
still at the end of the day when all's said and done, the one and only
single thing left is that one burning question.
what's in it for me?
('cause that's what really matters).
same as the rest?
convince me i am.
you don't need to burn the bridge in my head 'cause i'm out on my own...
what's in it for me, me, me?
('cause that's what really matters).

he also said this:
i don't care what you do.
production/destruction, it's nothing new.
and i don't care what you say, to die for/to buy for, it's all the same.
i don't care if it's 'new and improved' i said i don't like it.
i don't care if it's 'life-time guaranteed.'
i don't like it.
i don't care what you say.
i don't care what you say.
i don't care what you do.
i don't like it.
just get in line 'cause it won't be long.
don't waste my time 'cause there's nothing wrong.
no need to fight, misunderstood, 'cause you're wrong and i'm right (and i
knew you would).

and the point is?

our differences and inability to agree on anything is what allows marketing to work. divide the people and sell to both sides. both of which are making an uneducated decision simply to contradict the other

marketing is good
amnesty international does marketing all the time, as is greenpeace
like I said before some products appeal to us because we desire
I only bought a fancy car and a nice condo because I get laid more often.
Woman desire the fancy wealthy shit and I desire the cunt.
If it were for me I would've bought a less expensive car and live in a small flat instead
I don't need that shit it's just fucking bait for the bitches

how does it feel when your alone to admit to yourself that the women your form relationships are essentially there for your possessions. for me that shit is unacceptable. i had two cars for that exact reason. the old trust rusty jeep cj5 and the leather clad grand cherokee. if a chick was cool with rolling around in the hoopty and eating at home or some cheap place for a while she would get treated different and better later on with nicer dinners and a closed vehicle. women earn me not the other way around.
i am me not my possessions
"you are not your fucking khakis" - Tyler Durden

it's the game
I couldn't give a fuck as long as I get to play with the cunt
I won't marry the girl so I don't care if she likes me or my condo
oh and good luck finding a woman who's genuinely interested in you and you only
those woman are fucking rare

thats why i keep looking. i'll admit i've only met 2 that were. too bad they were before i realized what i needed was more important than what i wanted.

CD Player is Technological advancement. The press release that accompanied it is marketing.
- e_b_c0
Piracy created the CD player. And the Mini-disc and whatever that new technology is that i read about a few months ago.
