"but, in the end the states really are great. theres so many different kinds of living you can do here."
amen shellie - wherever you are and whatever you are doing - its what you make of it that matters most...you get out what you put back in...it was a really tough transition coming here from England...i couldn't believe how different our respective cultures are. It's taken me a good year to start feeling comfortable and not so bewildered by things and the prevailing attitudes of your average red-state american.
In short...America is a bloody great place. I feel lucky to be here.

oh *and* I just received my 'Permanent Resident' card and 'Welcome to America' letter in teh mail...actually I received the same letter 4 times over the span of last week...I guess they really want to makeme feel welcome! The resident card is funny...they actually put a slight shadow beard on me...I guess incase I ever grow a beard? There is a massive magnetic strip on the back and gawd knows whats on that...my whoe life in detail probably...first girlfriends...high school grades...funny

(Feb 7 05, 09:06)Nah... it's the governments way to letting you know that the right hand, doesn't know what the left hand is doing here. It's the way the government works here. You'll either never get what is coming to you, or you'll get more than enough.
Oh, and in my best Eddie Murphy...
"Welcome to America!"
