I landed on these american shores one year ago today.
It's just about sort of starting to feel like home.
This year totally flew by

So to briefly recap: My cat died at the airport; I found a job 3 weeks after being here; We got a dog; We bought a house; I got arrested; I got an American driving license; I turned 30; I started snowboarding every weekend; We got the use of a place in Vail; I lost 12 pounds; I put it all back on again; I saw my first Hockey, Baseball, and Football game; We drove *a lot*; I bought a mountain bike. And a car; I saw Braid; We got a new cat; I got a new tattoo; I had my first Thanksgiving......and.......I met Kenny Loggins. In anyone's book that's a fuck of a lot of things to get done in a year!

and, for what is worth...
the pats won the superbowl, the red sox won the world series, the pats won 21 straight en route to their second super bowl. i graduated from college. i went to ireland. i started dating me lady. i coached my pop warner team to the regional finals in my first year. i gained 20 pounds (which was needed). i was featured on the bbc. i managed not to hold a job for an entire year and still made a living. i got my first mac. i joined newstoday. and i met all of you! quite the year here as well.
not taking anything away from your move here, jevad. i congratulate you on your year and hope america has treated you well.

i hope america aint half bad for ya jevad. that's the truth. a lot of people wanna hate it here. soemtime i wanna hate it too. but, in the end the states really are great. theres so many different kinds of living you can do here. and, for the most part, you can do it pretty cheaply compared to other places.
have fun... enjoy... i hope you feel as at home as you possibly can.
one day if you're ever in LA, we'll forget about our NT bickering and have a beer on the beach and have a laugh. hopefully nick will be in town too.
