"thats all very well abizzy but what does terrorism have to do with iraq? you mention spain and 9/11 and what not... is there a hidden link between iraq and all of that?
lifeinsodium(Jan 31 05, 16:21)"
--------Here they come with the Kerry campaign regurgitations. If we want new responses I guess we need to wait for the next demobrat spinner who will represent these lost brainwashed souls.

and to say that america isnt profiting from iraq, what happened to that 9 billion dollars again?
- lifeinsodium0
you calling someone lost and brainwashed is like courtney love calling maynard a media whore.

i can't believe how fast some of you jumped on virtu for starting a positive thread about a historic moment in iraq.
how sad for you.

lifeinsodium (saffy!)... let me start here:
"Iraq and terrorism go back decades. Baghdad trains Palestine Liberation Front members in small arms and explosives. Saddam uses the Arab Liberation Front to funnel money to the families of Palestinian suicide bombers in order to prolong the Intifadah. And it’s no secret that Saddam’s own intelligence service was involved in dozens of attacks or attempted assassinations in the 1990s."...
now.. you read the rest:
http://www.state.gov/s/ct/rls/pg…
that's from Powell in feb of '03... that's when Kerry, Kenedy, Germany, France, Spain, Italy, the U.K.... etc. etc...... all AGREED w/that assesment based on Intel and history...
... of course - election time rolled around... and WHAM-O... or... BLAM-O if you like... time to begin the attacks on the repub's...
it's all there - Iraq was a terrorist haven. (and still is)

sputnik i mentioned that in one of these responses. mrdobolina was trying to spin it by saying "The Iraqi people didn't even know what or who they were voting for!" and i explained to him (of course he doesn't listen because that might mean letting in facts) that these Iraqis risked there lives to vote so dont even try saying they didnt know who or what they were voting for as if to imply they dont know what their doing.
- johndiggity0
okay, i lied.
i don't think the us has taken the money, obviously you disagree. no one knows for sure, i'm sure we can both agree on that: http://news.yahoo.com/news?tmpl=…
also, how is allowing a country to choose its future representatives and lawmakers in a democratic process considered imperialism? is it because a democratic process was imposed upon them? is it the imposition, or the actually act of democracy that makes this an imperial intrusion? i'm just curious.
- cola0
johndiggity dont bother. they are so frustrated that something Bush did worked. especially that the elections working means that this entire coalition effort was justified. 8 million Iraqis have spoken and now they are pissed. They wish more Iraqis would have died so they can point blame. Right now their empty handed and frustrated. it's kind of amusing to watch them squirm, fall back on insults, panic with assumptions vs. facts, and finally fall back on WMD's vs. Oil. They are doing their best at diverting from their reluctance to celebrate millions of Iraqis and get frustrated when we bring them back to the topic at hand.
- mrdobolina0
can true democracy really be imposed on a country? that is the real question. I enjoy talking with you about this john, you actually read.
As far as the 9 bill goes, knowing your party, it is probably sitting in a slush fund waiting to fight some secret war somewhere ;)

if liquid's still around...we made a tuscan steak last night.
giganto t-bone marinated in olive oil, lotsa garlic and rosemary for 4 hours then grilled. u must try it ;)
- abizzyman0
just in case you needed reiteration as to the correlation between Iraq and Terrorism:
http://www.state.gov/s/ct/rls/pg…
there's nothing wrong w/a little repitiveness every now and then.
- johndiggity0
i just enjoy intelligent, civilized debates with those of differening point of views. that's what makes this country great, not because there is a right and wrong.
- mrdobolina0
biz, that report by colin powell was proved wrong. Bush admin even admitted there was no connection between iraq and al quaeda.
