Help! I think I'm losing interest and my taste for working as a designer! Suddenly packing it all in and teaching English in Japan is appealing to me, just a small problem with a mortgage. Anyone else lost their way and found themselves again? Quark is really starting to bug me...

i think design is one of those careers that does that to you every now and then... hasnt happened to me yet, but im sure it will...

I 'left' webdesign over two years ago to start co's. selling magic mushrooms.
Now I've come full-circle, doing all the web, print and branding for my companies as well as beginning a range of clothes (yes, me too - sorry).
I think the trick is not to get bored - once a designer, always a designer. The teaching thing in Japan is a good idea though, I'm thinking about doing something similar when the law changes here in the UK ;)

I find design to be largely superficial and unimportant, unsatisfying and redundant with small financial reward and an uncertain future.

I am getting out of design this year. Moving on. I am just sick at how mush we have to now and do, for CRAP money.
The only decent money is at senior lever and then you got to be a bloody genius.
