The Mac mini is stripped down externally, no mouse, keyboard, or display, while still being a full-featured machine internally. Windows PC makers generally take the opposite approach: You get a monitor, keyboard, and mouse, but limited hardware features and little to no software.

I use a 450mhz G4 maxed RAM as my main work machine.
I do large print work
web work
and believe or not nay sayers mostly Flash workI have been using the same machine for the last 4 years and I make a good salary doing so.
Why haven't I upgraded? No need- it works- it works well and is actually faster using Panther than it was using OS 9.

as previously mentioned before....add some RAM...good to go

should be perfect for web design. Not for print design. Not for video editing (after effects, premiere).
Good for 72dpi photoshop project, web interface design.

I think it's enough power!
That little piece of hardware may surpass the creative abilities of many here, it's like having a powerful computer but there's no brain power to match.

a cheap mac is always better than an expensive - since they are all slow.

I am designing off of a powerbook 500 Mhz with 1Gb and a 8mb graphic card.
mac mini has a 1.25/1.42 Ghz G4 you can get 1Gb of ram and it has a 32MB video card.
there is no reason you couldnt design on it without a proble
and try to find a $500 PC with those same specs
