Strange Obsessions?

I prefer sleeping with the tv on as well (not the radio anymore unless it's classical. Otherwise the songs dictate my dreams and they won't be as good, i've found).
Also, I'm scared of either forgetting to lock doors or turning off my space heater at work. If i'm the last one to leave the office, if i can't get someone on my cell to hear me rattle the locked doors, I cut the back of my hand on one of the sharp corners of the handle so that if I start to panic that i didn't lock the door, i can check my hand and see the welt.

I have to brush my teeth at least 6-8 times a day. I also have to buy any new tooth brushing product that comes out.

i am obsessed with dying my hair. i probably change the color of it every 2 to 4 months

I am kind of the same way. If I'm in public at a restaraunt, fast food place, bank, etc. where there are pens or brochures or objects sitting on a flat surface, I always align them with the closest thing to them.
Such as a recessed seam in a wood desktop, I would line up a pen with that, or the edge of a book.

I critique every billboard, flyer, TV comercial, and pretty much any other publicly displayed design. Breakng it down into what works and doesn't in regards to color choice, font usage, lighting...
...but most of us here probably do this with out noticing.

i do that too. everything lined up all nice.
or if i can't do that then it's the other extreme, with no order whatsoever and everything in a heap of junk.

i think i am the only one at the office who has a toothbrush, toothpaste and who takes the stairs.
they think i'm strange. although one chickee caught on when she saw my firm, spankin' ass and now she too takes the stairs. :)

Did anyone else do that draw a house with an x in the middle without lifting your pen as a kid? There were several ways to do it.
When I was a kid, and whenever I had free time I ALWAYS tried to come up with new ways to do it. I've probably spent a whole year of my life trying to come up with new variations.
I have like 6 now.

I always put my right glove on before the left one. I think I do it strictly for good luck.

I also have that thing that won't let me throw away magazines.
I have the last issue of PC Accelerator (circa 2000) on my desk, and in the desk are car audio mags that feature custom fiberglass how-to's. And a huge stack of guitar mags with tabs to good songs in them.

omg! jox. i was absolutely obsessed with that when i was about 5 or 6.
and i only found one way to do the box with one triagle on top. are you talking about having triangles on all sides?

I always open the left side of my Djarums first and place the half smoked ones in that side for later smoking.

Yep, I just can't throw them away. And I can go DAYS where I'm irritated that I never started that "database" I talked about.
Especially music magazines, Q, NME, they're piling up already.
I would give anything if magazine publishers did a bound book of all issues at the end of the year, oh, man, that would be a dream come true.

i have this terrets thing going - whenever i am watching a movie, tv, or see a billboard i shout out the font name and whoever i am with or the people around me, look at me like i am nuts - i love it.

i can't bear to toss a magazine either. i think it stems from when I was a kid, my parents would never buy me any- i'd get the glossy gems about once a year, and read it cover to cover. about 100 times.
when i started living on my own, i hung onto every mag that came my way. I had over 20 subscriptions last year, and started building a pile taller than myself. i left it there when I moved, just because my laziness > my magazine fetish. other than that, i'm pretty normal.

True.
I also have several huge boxes of flyers from raves and shows.
Whether or not I went to the show I still hang on to well designed flyers.
Went to a new sushi place the other day and all the menus, chopstick papers, coasters... all sported the same design work so I grabed one of each piece.
Friends ask why. I don't know.
I don't have design friends who understand.

i am obsessed with my music collection, i always need more, and when i have free time i reorganize it. i probably have close to 200 hours of music i haven't even listened to yet and i am going to buy more after work today. its probably been about 2 months since i had the time to go back and listen to an old album. i have been listening to nothing but new stuff i got and i listen to music non stop at work everyday.

I have to where ear bud at night because I lived with people that worked late. And now I cannot stop. It just fills right.
I have also been obsessed with a cure for mouth ulcers. And why do people get them and why is there no solution.
