whats this mean? i'm serious. i mean how does this work?

and what? she want an award for doing this?
she can do it without making self-promotion with it
i hate that.

I know she is trying to help and she might be reaching some pretty generous people. But just give the money, put your celebrity approval on it, whatever, but why suggest that some hands-on jobs are a waste or overpaid makes as much sense as the $15 bucks.

she's using the forum she has available to her to raise awareness of how little it takes to help other people. she could do it in another way so it's not self promo but then not as many people would see it. i say good for her. i would like to know what the $15 was too... maybe the cost of the video tape? and it's not like they would have forced a designer to do all that work... some people actually enjoy doing pro bono work.

I totally agree with most of the points made, but I think celebs do it to inspire their fans and others. I hate as much as anyone else when charity becomes a platform to promote and exploit. But I feel it was an honest attempt. But that's me.
- benfal990
i've seen better way to do it...

like what, benfal? curious...
- benfal990
like all the artists who give to organisations without having to call the medias to tell them what they have done.
- benfal990
at least she have'nt give all the money to the Tsunami disaster.
- dippy0
agreed, that's a more subtle, discreet way to give.
But y'know, there was this one thread on NT right after the tsunami disaster -- where everyone posted how much they gave to relief organizations. At first, I was like what the heck?! Why should you post how much you give?? But the funny thing is, it made me want to give as well. And people who posted weren't all holier than thou or anything. They just wanted to encourage giving.
- benfal990
yeah maybe...
but you know i prefer to see Sarah doing this than a ad for Nike. So in a way its a very good move she made

what's with all the famous people feeling that they NEED to tell the world how much they are giving?
so and so gave a million bucks... such crap. Especially when they have a $200 million house.
Give to charity or don't. I don't need to KNOW how generous you are.

Is that her video, or is it someone using her as an example, saying that she spent all the money on a video instead of using it to help people?
