agreed, that's a more subtle, discreet way to give.
But y'know, there was this one thread on NT right after the tsunami disaster -- where everyone posted how much they gave to relief organizations. At first, I was like what the heck?! Why should you post how much you give?? But the funny thing is, it made me want to give as well. And people who posted weren't all holier than thou or anything. They just wanted to encourage giving.
