Laird Hamilton is known as the guiding genius of crossover board sports, and he is truly amazing in the water. His size - six-foot-three, 215 pounds - makes him seem indestructible. 'Laird is the elder son of 60's surfing legend Bill Hamilton, and is a throw back to that time when surfers prided themselves on being all-around waterman.

thats on the homepage of the site..... but in the doc Step Into Liquid one of the guys says that laird is small like only like 5'6" or something

At work we're watching some workers video tapes of their vacation at Phuket. Art Director Phi Peach survived but his head is banged up. Is crazy shit whether somebody posts surfing clips in the NTB or not. At least their not the vacation clips were watching at work. Its crazy and sad.

And I was there in New York on September 11th and the acrobatic plane stunts wouldn't offend me. What would offend me if you agreed it was a good thing for the United States. People have taken sensitivity to ridiculous levels. If you're so sensitive give a lot of money to help or go in there yourself and help rebuild and translate for kids. Don't worry about the NTB. It doesn't matter a damn.

i think those clips would work better (less humiliating to today's climate) if they played slayer rather than st germain.
- abizzyman0
eh... didn't even make the connection - I thought the vids were incredible...
... but now noticing that so many were pissed because they made a connection - simply out of respect, I'd understand killing the post for now.
... then again, paul, your opening to this thread was nicely put. I'm so FUCKING tired of political correctness - I think that's why I love jevads comments... the dude just is blunt. Peace to jev... have fun in hong kong - look forward to talking to you when you get back!

IMO, not much good is coming out of it for mankind. There are no rules in nature. It's completely 100% random. Earthquakes and volcanos (same functional output), throughout Geologic History, have killed off many different organisms. Man just happens to be hanging around at this point in history. Just because we are able to compute, doesn't mean we are special. :)
- usrper0
yea i mean, its really not like its gona make the REAL situation any worse/better.
don't waste time thinking if this would destroy your day, there are thousands of people in x100 pain.

As for the first post, Paul's, he's dead on. Think HIV/AIDS. Is that Mother Nature's way of getting back at a f*cked up species? Not that it ultimately matters, but we tank around with the Earth pretty regulary. Ehhh, we'll be gone it'll regenerate.

so true! That's why I laugh at those who scream out 'Global Warming' etc...
... the earth is gonna do it's own thing - look at this earthquake. It destroyed life... moved an island (Sumatra) 100+ feet, adjusted the earth's rotation axis and adjusted the earth's timezones by a few milliseconds.
Earth's gonna do it's thing whether we're around or not.
- usrper0
im pretty sure its global warming.
screams
- usrper0
but seriously, caging animals isint a good idea.
- mrdobolina0
when would it be appropriate to begin posting surfing vids again?
You people act like bitches alot.
- abizzyman0
usrper... scream alll you want!
I think Global Warming is a theory that's completely unproveable based on only 100+ years of recorded weather.
History shows that earth changes - ice ages etc... the earth will adjust.
